Interesting fortune cookie. What do you think of this advice? Sometimes in life it seems that we forget things that we don't want to forget. It is true though that if you don't forget some things in life then you are somewhat trapped in the past and can't adapt to the future situations that you may encounter then it is hard to "move forward" and keep past events in the proper perspective. I don't think that the ability to forget is the one true test of greatness; it may be a sign of greatness but not the "one" true test.

I don't know if this is the greatest pleasure in life. What do you think? I think the greatest pleasure in life is to do what you perceive and believe this greatest pleasure to be irrespective of what other people think. I don't think you should necessarily let others define what you can do or cannot do in the first place. Perhaps the greatest pleasure in life is to achieve the goals and thoughts that you yourself determine although I would agree that if you achieve what others say you cannot then at least you have proven these doubters wrong.

How true this advice is as sometimes you can start first and finish 3rd, 7th, or even tied for 13th, it all depends on the level of competition of course, as well as the number of people in the event. Sometimes though in fact starting first does end up with meaning crossing the finish line first, just that there is no guarantee that the first person to start will also finish first.

I don't know, is this a good trade off? Would you like to have possible solid gains if the gains meant that you had to have a headache as well? Plus, what are solid gains? Does this mean that you ate too much ice cream too fast and had a brain freeze? Does this mean you ate too much food and gained weight (solid gains)? Does this mean you gained some measure of success today but only after "beating your head against the wall and thus suffered a concussion or a headache? Does this mean that no real success in life comes without conquering obstacles in your path first which give you a headache? I don't know. What do you think?

I don't know if I myself follow this advice. How about you? I honestly think that this is good advice. Most people will listen to you if you speak honestly and openly unless they are deaf or hard of hearing because then unless you YELL the hard of hearing can't hear you to listen to you. In speaking with a deaf person you have to speak openly so that they can see your lips if they are lip readers or you have to learn sign language and then sign honestly and openly.

In don't necessarily agree with this advice particularly because it should read "Don't give in to cynicism" but trust me it says into not "in to". Yes, I 'm skeptical of this advice. I think people should not take all things at "face value" and should investigate and engage in critical thinking particularly where politics is concerned as there are plenty of "hypocrites" currently on center stage in the realm of politics who say one thing and do another. So, follow this advice if you wish but the only "Blind Faith" I sometimes follow is the old "Super group" named "Blind Faith" with Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker and others.

Well, I guess this advise make sense. However, planning to fail is actually a plan just as not making a decision is in fact the decision you have decided to make.In other words, a non-plan is a plan and in reality an indecision is a decision at that point in time. It is always good to try to plan but there are sometimes cases in life where circumstances beyond your control can thwart the best laid plans. Also, there is a question as to when to decide or plan something in your life because many times you never get all the variables of a plan or decision before it is time to plan or decide. Plus, some plans are failures; so even if you plan that doesn't ensure that your plan will be successful so even if you do plan you may fail.

Please note that these fortune cookies are not original to me. I don't know how many different fortune cookie advice messages there are all together and I'm interested to see if I ever run across a duplicate fortune cookie message. Time will tell. I know there is not an unlimited number of fortune cookie messages so we shall see what develops.

I guess it is probably good advice to finish up old tasks as you don't want old tasks to get mouldy or pile up too much because then there won't be any time to finish any new tasks that pop up in your life. 3rd Fortune Cookie
The number of fortune cookie advice sayings and lucky numbers will be somewhat limited by the number of Chinese meals that I eat and as to whether my Chinese restaurant will include one or two fortune cookies along with my meal. I must confess that I don't eat Chinese food every day or for every meal for that matter but usually about once a week or so I do end up at local Chinese restaurant. With a name like "Rick Shaw" perhaps that predisposed me to have an affinity for Oriental food as I find this food "ah-so good". Rice is nice that's what they say and they say that vegetables, meats, fish, are also good for you.

In passing along these fortune cookies please don't make this fortune cookie advice make you stop going to your favorite Chinese restaurants and ordering your own take-out or dine in meals. After all, owners and workers at Chinese restaurants have to eat too! These owners and workers can't eat if they don't cook and sell their meals to their customers; although of course they COULD eat their own food at their restaurant but then if they eat all the food themselves they won't be taking in any money from their customers so that they can buy more food to prepare for future customers. You don't want to eat all of your "seed corn" so to speak or perhaps in this case "rice" because if you do then that's it; you don't have any more food left and what is a Chinese restaurant without food?

Fortune cookie
Today I fed some seagulls down by the seashore in Dennisport on Cape Cod some forune cookies that I had accumulated from some Chinese take out meals. The gulls ate them up so I guess they liked them. I read them their fortune cookie advise but they didn't seem to understand what I was talking about so I thought I would pass along these "Pearls of Oriental Wisdom" along with the lucky numbers found on each cookie.
